The spanking new BMW M6 Coupe and M6 Convertible models were revealed prior to their public debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2012. Aesthetic changes include a new M apron with wide air-intake, contoured headlamps featuring BMW Corona rings and M style kidney grille, increased front track by 30mm, new front wheel arches, and M gills behind them featuring chrome flares and indicator bars with the M logo.

At the rear end, twin pairs of exhaust pipes are seen between the diffuser. The car comes with 19-inch Star-spoke forged alloys with a seven double spoke in a two-tone finish. 20 inch alloy wheels, five double spokes are optional. The M6 Coupe gets a carbon fiber reinforced plastic roof while the Convertible gets the same retractable roof as on the 6-Series Convertible.

It can be raised in 19 seconds and lowered in 24 at anything from a standstill up to 40km/h. Both variants of the M6 are share the M5 saloon powertrain and a seven-speed Double Clutch Transmission with Drivelogic. It produces 560bhp and 680Nm which is available from 1,500rpm to 5,750rpm.

The 4.4-litre engine also features direct fuel injection, Valvetronic variable valve timing and Double VANOS continuously variable camshaft control. The M6 Coupe takes 4.2 from 0-100km/h while the convertible does it in 4.3 seconds. The M6 will go on sale in the UK on 15 September 2012, with the Coupe costing £ 93,795 and the Convertible £ 98,995. US markets will receive the car in June.
